Visit the high desert museum in Bend, Oregon and see colorful historic characters, engaging programs, artful exhibits and plenty of captivating animals. You'll also have the opportunity to explore an authentic sawmill and homestead from 1904, as you learn about Native American history and culture in a beautiful setting unlike any other.
Open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the winter season, the High Desert Museum extends its hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting May 1. Winter admission is $12 per adult, $10 for seniors and $7 for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Starting May 1, admission rates increase slightly; however, children under four enjoy free admission year-round.
Stationed off South Highway 97, five miles south of Bend, the museum is conveniently situated near some of the area's top destinations, including Newberry Volcanic Monument, Sunriver Resort, High lakes and mountains, Mt Bachelor Ski and Summer Resort, Deschutes River and Smith Rock State Park and climbing area.
