Bend, OR Things to Do in September - Oktoberfest!!!

2013 Country Financial Bend Oktoberfest

Oregon Avenue (Downtown Bend)
Between Bond & Wall Streets

September 20th – 5pm-10pm
September 21st – 12pm-10pm

Admission -

FREE! One of the best things to do in the Northwest this September is celebrate October! Summer’s ending and the seasons are turning. That means harvest time, which means plenty of grains to brew everyone’s favorite fall drink – Beer! Not only that, it’s the perfect season to celebrate the Germanic influence on Oregon traditions of all kinds. For 2 days this September, Oregon Avenue will fill with families and revelers between Bond and Wall Streets to welcome autumn with a proper Oktoberfest celebration, and all proceeds go toward keeping Downtown Bend unique and beautiful.

Fun for the Whole Family -

Oktoberfest is all about community. Throughout our 2-day festival, there will be tons of delicious Bavarian food, live music from The Mirko Pressler Band, seasonal local beer, wine, cider, and fun for all ages. Family Fest is special space for young ones to frolic, full of bouncy horses, sword shows, and face painting. The famous Weiner Dog Parade and subsequent Race is an absolute MUST for everyone, while human competitors revel in the yodeling contest, stein-holding contest, costume contest, and hammerschlagen, or nail-hammering race.

Eat Your Way Through it All -

Some of the tastiest food you’ll ever eat harkens back to Bavaria, and it will all be available at this year’s Oktoberfest. Try the 4 different types of bratwurst, Schnitzel, Knödel, Jager Meatballs, Pommes Frites, and plenty of traditional sweets for dessert.
Be sure to book your room at the Fairfield Inn and Suites or TownePlace Suites in Bend so you can enjoy all the festival has to offer and not have far to go after the festivities!
