Celebrate your community during the summer's weekly Bend Farmers Market. A great opportunity to meet and greet with your produce growers and buyers, check out the long list of local community that's getting involved in this summer's Bend Farmers Market, operating through August 21 in the Brooks Street alley way behind the Tower Theatre and the Mountain View High School. Farm to table dining is all the rage - and you can have it right in your very own kitchen. Enjoy a host of CSA (community supported agriculture) vendors including Fields Farms, Groundwork Organics and Rainshadow Organics at the Bend Farmers Markets, and always check back for a growing list of producers every week! All products sold at the bi-weekly farmers market, now hosted on Wednesdays and Fridays from June through August, are 100% grown, produced or collected in Oregon. Local produce that is commonly sold at the market include vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, nuts, flowers, plans and horticultural products like cheese, seafood, poultry and meats. When you buy at the Bend Farmers Market, you aren't only supporting local farmers and growers, but you'll helping to grow the local school lunch program. The Bend Farmers Market works with the Bend-LaPine School District to teach students about nutrition and healthy eating so it's easily integrated into your meal calendar as well. With a growing program and continued community support, the Bend Farmers Markets will quickly become one of the leaders in farm to table offerings. Pick up an apple, peach, tomato or almond this Wednesday or Friday!
