On June 8, bring along some friends and a van by joining the ultimate beer relay competition on the West Coast - the Bend Beer Chase. Only in its second year, this popular event has been a hit among brew enthusiasts who love the coast's renowned breweries. Reinventing the classic relay race, this one-day course covers over 70 miles. Hit up some of the top Central Oregon breweries, including Worthy, 10 Barrel, Wild Ride, Juniper Brewing, Smith Rock, Three Creeks, Solstice, Bridge 99, Bend Brewing, Atlas Cider, and of course Deschutes. And that's not all of them! Bring along your partner-in-crime or even a crew of six for an awesome course race that'll get you truly 'hopped' up. The Bend, Oregon Beer Chase includes 12, 4-8 mile legs traipsing through the state from Bend, through Redmond, to Sisters and back. There's no drinking delay in this race - the run starts at Worthy Brewing on the east side, and sets off to join fellow Bend running in the downtown "Keg Leg" race. After stopping at six local breweries, you'll finish at Crux Fermentation Project before jetting back off into the van. If you're afraid of carb overloading, don't worry! The option to sip on a 3-4 oz sample of beer is only optional! Just remember that there needs to be a DD in every van. Want to skip the 70 and just stick with 6? The Keg Leg Bend portion of the race, and its six breweries, can be done solo! It's simple and fun - so join the beer chase today!
